DIY Jewelry Organizer

Create your own jewelry and accessory organizer easily and in no time at all!

What you'll need:
A picture frame
Fine grit sand paper
Spray paint (optional)
Staple gun
Fabric of your choosing
Chicken wire
Wire cutters

Steps:
1. Take the glass and backing out of your frame
2. Sand down the picture frame and prep for paint
3. Add two coats of paint to your picture frame. Allow time to dry between coats.
4. Add chicken wire to the back on your picture frame securing it with your staple gun.
5. Add decorative fabric to the back of your picture frame with your staple gun.
6. Staple an additional section of chicken wire to the top back of your photo frame so that you may hang it on the wall.
7. Add jewelry.

Option: you can add command hooks to the front of your photo frame for large necklaces.

    1. Well thank you! Fun fact: You can use it for much more than jewelry! I will get a clip and post an important note on it as I never leave home without my sunglasses and earrings. You could also easily exchange the chicken wire for the backing of your frame and give it a coat of chalk paint. Obviously turning it into a message board :-)

  3. This is really awesome and seems really simple to make. I keep my jewelry in a box, but I always forget about it so I don't wear them that much. This is such a neat way to organize and display all your jewelry (so you don't forget you have it, ha!)

    1. Ha ha, yes! I found that my necklaces were always getting tangled. It really is quite simple to make and can be completed in very little time. If you decided to make this be sure to send me a picture!

  4. This is a GREAT idea! Mine is in a box and I can never see it all so this would be a perfect alternative!

    1. Thank you, Kayla! I was running into the same problem. I now keep my fine and smaller jewelry in my jewelry box and all my daily "costume" jewelry hung. I am always on the go in the morning so this is an easy way for me not to forget. If you decide to make this yourself I would love to see a picture so be sure to send one to us!

  5. How simple yet so awesome and super practical! I NEED one of these in my life. I have nothing useful to hang my jewelry on. Things are now getting lost from just sitting on my dresser because they have nowhere else to hang.

    1. Thank you! I hated buying a pair of new earrings or a necklace and then finding a tangled or not being able to find the match to an earring with less than two minutes to walk out the door for work (I had this issue so many times).

  6. This is such a great idea. I love organizers that hang on the wall so you can just look up and find what you need at a glance. This one is simple and super cute!

  7. Thank you, Cait! Another thing that I love about this is that it fits discreetly behind the door. Before deciding to make one myself I shopped around quite a bit for a jewelry hanger but found that many of them were big and bulky. if you decide to make one of these yourself be sure to send me a picture!
